Using Real-Time
You can only access the Real-Time
Interface from a client account with a policy containing at least
Type, Description, Effective/Expiration
dates, Agency, Branch, Department,
Line, Status, and Issuing
Location.
You can also perform select Real-Time transactions from the Policies
screen, without accessing the Real-Time
Interface. Use the link labels in the eServicing ribbon to perform
a Policy Inquiry, Claim Inquiry, Billing
Inquiry, or Company Website
transaction. The transactions available depend on the issuing company’s
configuration and the transactions it supports. Use the Launch Real-Time button in
the Market Appetite
panel to perform a Rate
transaction with any carrier that supports Real-Time rating and the selected
line of business. See Policies
for more information.
- Locate the
account in question.
- Click the Real-Time
button on the options bar. The Real-Time
Interface screen displays.
- Choose the Policy
or Claim
radio button.
- Select the applicable transaction
from the Commands dropdown.
These options vary, depending on the radio button you chose. See the
Real-Time
Commands section of the Applied Epic Agency Interface Manual for
more information.

Premium Interface for instructions if you choose one of those
options.
- Evaluation dates default
but can be changed if necessary, depending on your dropdown menu selection.
- Change the policies
or claims and/or columns
that display in the list if necessary.
- Choose a policy
or claim
in the list.
- A list of Available Carriers
displays. Select the checkbox
next to each carrier to which you wish to send a transaction.
- You can change the default company contract
number or NAIC
code for your session if necessary (if the company
has multiple contract numbers or NAIC codes configured).
- Click Go.
- Your inquiry is sent to the selected carriers; the results display
after a few moments.
- The Real-Time Transactions Results
screen displays. Highlight an item
in the first list.
- Click the tabs to view information for the selected item:
- Click Accept
to complete the workflow.
