Outlook Synchronization
Outlook Synchronization enables you to access items from your Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Tasks as activity entries in TAM. It also enables you to access TAM activities in Outlook.

Outlook Items Converted to TAM Activities
Appointments and Tasks created in Outlook are moved into TAM activities, located in the Home Base Open Activities List.
TAM Activities Converted to Outlook Items
Calendar Appointments: TAM activities that contain follow-up times convert to appointments in the Outlook Calendar.
- Subject Line = Activity Description
- Start Time = Activity Follow-up Date and Follow-up Time
- End Time = Follow-up Date and 30 minutes after Start Time. (Appointments are assumed as 30 minutes and must be changed manually if necessary.)
- Note section = Client name, address, phone numbers, and Activity Note
- Priority levels = Default to Normal
Tasks: TAM activities that do not contain follow-up times convert to Tasks in Outlook.
- Subject Line = Activity Description
- Due Date = Activity Follow-up Date
- Start Date = Activity Date Entered
- Status = Not Started
- Priority levels = Default to Normal
- Note section = Client name, address, phone numbers, and Activity Note
- Reminder = No default (You must set this manually if you want a reminder.)
Run Outlook Synchronization
Use the following steps to run Outlook Synchronization.
- From the Home Base Options menu, select Outlook Synchronization.
- To filter the items you want to synchronize, select the Start Date and End Date for the Outlook Calendar and TAM Activities items. The items for the dates selected appear in the listviews.
- To move items between the Outlook Calendar list and the TAM Activities list, select an item and click the appropriate arrow.
When you select an Outlook Calendar or Task item in the list, the pane below displays the text in the Notes section of the selected Task or Calendar item.
When you select a TAM Activity in the list, the client code, name, and mailing address for the related client appear in the fields below the list.
- When you finish adding items to the desired list, click Exit.
Options Menu
- Refresh: Select this option to refresh the Outlook Calendar and TAM Activities lists to include items that may have been added since the screen was opened.
- Select Activity Category: Use this option to select a default activity category when the activity is created. If you do not select a category, APPO (appointment) is the default.
