Using Real-Time

You can only access the Real-Time Interface from a client account with a policy containing at least Type, Description, Effective/Expiry dates, Agency, Branch, Department, Line, Status, and Issuing Location.

Use the eServicing ribbon on the Policies screen to perform Real-Time transactions (Policy Inquiry, Claim Inquiry, Billing Inquiry, and Company Website) without accessing the Real-Time Interface. The transactions available depend on the issuing company’s configuration and the transactions it supports. See Policies for more information on the eServicing ribbon.

  1. Locate the account in question.
  2. Click the Real-Time button on the options bar. The Real-Time Interface screen displays.
  3. Choose the Policy or Claim radio button.
  4. Select the applicable transaction from the Commands dropdown. These options vary, depending on the radio button you chose. See the Real-Time Commands section of the Applied Epic Agency Interface Manual for more information.
    Note: See Rate Manager or Finance Premium Interface for instructions if you choose one of those options.
  5. Evaluation dates default in but may be changed if necessary, depending on your dropdown menu selection.
  6. Change the policies or claims and/or columns that display in the list if necessary. You can only modify the columns that display in the Policies list.
  7. Choose a policy or claim in the list.
  8. A list of Available Carriers displays. Select the checkbox next to each carrier to which you wish to send a transaction.
  9. You can change the default company contract number or IBC code for your session if necessary (if the company has multiple contract numbers or IBC codes configured).
  10. Click Go.
  11. Your inquiry is sent to the selected carriers; the results display after a few moments.
  12. The Real-Time Transactions Results screen displays. Highlight an item in the first list.
  13. Click Accept to complete the workflow.
