Print Destination Configuration

Use this option to designate the printers and trays that should be used for the first page and subsequent pages when employees perform the Print Cheques, Reprint Cheques, and Distribute Document Batch workflows. Setting these defaults saves users times selecting the correct printer and trays and help to ensure that the items print correctly.

If the specified printer is not functional at the time that the employee prints cheques or a document batch, the default printer defined in Windows for the employee’s station will be used for that instance only. If the selected tray is not functional at the time that the employee prints, the next available tray will be used for that instance only.

You can only access this screen if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot configure default printers. Instead, users select from the printing options available in their web browsers, and many printing workflows provide a downloadable file for users to print locally.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

  2. Click User Options > Print Destination on the navigation panel.
  3. Your employee code defaults in the Employee to edit field. If you are not an Enterprise Admin, you may only be allowed to edit settings for your own employee code or employees with whom you have a relationship defined in employee detail.
  4. To select a different employee to edit, do the following:
    1. Enter the lookup code of the Employee to edit, or click the lookup button to locate the employee.
  5. Select the job you want to configure in the Print Destination list.
  6. If applicable, copy the settings for the selected job to one or more other employees. If you want all cheques and/or document batches to print to the same location, you can copy a single destination to all employees, provided you have rights to edit their settings.

Before copying settings, confirm that the printers you are copying are installed on the employees’ workstations. If they are not, employees who have security access to change printers during that job will be prompted to select a different printer, and employees who do not have security access to change printers will be unable to print.

To copy the current settings to another employee, do the following:
    1. Click Actions > Copy Settings To on the options bar or menubar. The Select Employees screen displays.
    2. The employees you have rights to edit display in the Available list. To filter the list, use the Search where bar to enter search criteria and click Find. If necessary, click a column heading to sort the list of employees by a different criterion. Click the column heading again to sort in the reverse order.
    3. Highlight the employee(s) to whom you want to copy settings and click the down arrow to move them to the Selected list. To select multiple employees, press [Ctrl] while clicking. Use the up arrow and double up arrow to move Selected employees back to the Available list.
    4. Click Finish to apply the settings, or Cancel to discard changes
