Geography
Before working in Applied Rating Services, familiarize yourself with
the functions of the Desktop Navigation
screen. Becoming familiar with this screen enables you to accomplish various
program tasks.
Desktop
Navigation Menubar
The menubar contains six options: File,
Client, Quote, Email, Utilities, and Help.
The sub-options for each menu option are listed below.

File
- Print: Launches Document
Centre to allow you to print or save any quote related documents
- Details: View the Premiums or Underwriting,
or Pre-Qualification
of the selected quote
- Change Brokerage: Login
to a different brokerage without having to log back into Applied Rating
Services.
- Log Off & Exit: Log
off of Applied Rating Services and close the program
- Exit: Exit Applied Rating
Services and return to Windows
Client
- New: Add a new client
- Modify: Edit the selected
client
- Delete: Delete the selected
client
- Memos: Access memos for
the selected client
- Activity: Access activities
for the selected client
- Attachments: Access attachments
for the selected client
- Locate: Locate a client
using the Advanced Search
- Merge: Merge another client’s
information with the selected client
Quote
- New Auto: Launches AutoRater
to start a new auto quote
- New Property: Launches
PropertyRater to start a new property quote
- Pre-Qual. Questions: Displays
the pre-qualification questions assigned to the selected quote.
- New Evaluation: Launches
a new ITV or ezITV, view an existing ITV or ezITV, depending on your
selection
- Re-Quote: Overwrites the
selected quote and launches the corresponding program
- Copy & Re-Quote: Creates
another instance of the selected quote and launches the corresponding
program for the selected quote
- Company Integration: Upload
the selected quote to the carriers which support this feature
- Export to Broker Management System:
Upload the selected completed quote to your broker management system.
If your Broker Management system is either Applied TAM or Applied
Epic, the option displays as Export
to Applied TAM or Export
to Applied Epic, respectively.
Note: This
Quote menu option only displays
if your broker management supports integration.
- Delete: Delete the selected
quote
- Notes: Access notes for
the selected quote
- Activity: Access activities
for the selected quote
- Application: Access the
CSIO application for the selected completed quote
Email
- Email: Launches the Applied Rating Services Mail window,
which enables you to send emails to clients with attached Quote
Document(s) from a client and/or Other
File(s) from your computer.
- Email History: Launches
Document Centre to view emails
that have already been sent.
- Define Signature: Define
and manage multiple signatures that can be used in the body of an
email.
Utilities
- Configure: Allows you to
setup and manage your Brokerages,
Users, Program Access Groups, Leads Accounts, Workflow Definitions,
and User Options in Applied
Rating Services.
- Preferences: Set the Date Format, Language and enable/disable
Remember effective date,
and Show splash screen at startup.
- Unlock Client: Enables
you to unlock quotes that are locked
- View Client Locks: Shows
a list of quotes that are locked
- Pro Rata / Short Rate:
Calculate Pro Rate and Short Rate calculations.
- Internet Leads: View your
downloaded leads
- Internet Leads Distribution Rules:
Set Up distribution methods for leads
- Pending MVR Report: Access
your non-immediate order MVR Report or your reports to launch the
quote to re-ordered reports.
- Task Manager: Shows the
instances of open screens in Applied Rating Services
Help
This menu provides access to Applied Rating Services online help file.
The Help menu includes the following
options:
- Applied Rating Services Help:
Launches the home page for Applied Rating Services Help documentation.
- Remote Assistance: Launches
a WebEx page with an Applied support technician to assist you.
- Request Applied Support:
Launches installed web browser and the Applied Community My Cases
page opens. From here, you can create a case for your issue/question
or use Applied Online Chat to talk to an Applied Support person.
- Online Service Status:
Launches installed web browser and Applied Community opens, which
shows if available any online service issues.
- About: Program specifications
and copyright information.
Desktop
Navigation Options Bar
Eight buttons are available on the Desktop Navigation options bar. The
function of each button is summarized below. Click the links below to
access more detailed information about each item.

Click Locate
to search for a client: choose Quick Search or an Advanced
search.
Click New
Client to create a new client in Applied Rating Services.
Click AutoRater
to start a new auto quote. Within AutoRater you have the option to quote
Private, Commercial and/or Miscellaneous vehicle(s).
Click PropertyRater to start a new property quote.
Within PropertyRater you have the option to quote Homeowners,
Condominiums, Tenants, Seasonal, Sec. Homeowners, Rented Dwelling,
and/or Rented Condo.
Click ITV
to calculate the replacement cost of a house without creating a property
quote. There are two ITV options: Applied
ezITV and Applied ITV.
Click Communication to add Client Attachments or Send Email to the client selected in Applied
Rating Services.
Click Short Rate
to calculate the Pro
Rate and Short Rate calculations for a stand-alone calculation or
for the selected quote displaying in the Quote
Summary list.
Click Print
to print or save any quote-related documents using the Document Centre.
Client Information
This section displays the Applicant’s and Co-Applicant’s name, Address,
contact information, Language, CSR, Client Code and Company information,
where applicable.
The information that displays here is based on what was entered in the
Add / Modify Client screen.

/ Modify Client screen:

Quote Summary
The Quote Summary section lists
all of the quotes that are associated with the selected Client.
To change the columns that display in the list, click the
button on the Quote Summary header bar.
You can do the following using the Quote Summary list buttons:
- Add a New Quote: Click
the Add
button
to add a new Auto,
Property, or Evaluation (Applied ezITV or Applied
ITV) quote.
- Re-Quote / Copy and Re-Quote:
Click the Edit
button
to Re-Quote
or Copy and Re-Quote the Auto,
Property, or Evaluation
(Applied ezITV or Applied ITV) quote.
- Delete a Quote: Select
the Delete
button
to delete the selected quote from the Quote Summary section for
that client
- Access Quote Notes: Click
the Notes
button
to access quote notes. From the Quote Notes screen you can Add, Delete, and Print
notes.
The Notes button displays
a visual indication (a blue dot) on the top right
if there is at least one note on the quote.
- Print Documents: Click
the Print
button
to access Document
Centre. From Document Centre,
you can print multiple documents for the selected quote.
- Access CSIO Application:
Click the Application
button
to access the Supplementary
Data screen. From this screen you can enter/fill-out the CSIO
Auto or Hab application.
Note: The
Application button is only
active if you are licensed for applications, the quote is completed
and there is a carrier name in the Carrier
column for the selected quote.
- Export to Broker Management System:
Click the Export
to Broker Management System button
to start
the integration workflow of uploading a completed quote to your broker
management system.
If your Broker Management system is either Applied TAM or Applied Epic,
the button hover text displays as Export
to Applied TAM or Export
to Applied Epic, respectively.
