From the dropdown menu above the list, select Companies.
Select the appropriate company in the list.
Click the Detail button.
Revise the company information as desired.
When revising name, address, and contact information for the company, please note the following:
The Attn field can be used for an extension of the company's name or for an additional address line.
The Zip field is searchable. Double click in the field and enter or select the appropriate zip code. The city and state then fill in automatically.
After entering the company's email address, you can click the email button to email the company directly from this screen.
After entering the company's web address, you can click the hyperlink button to launch the company's website in your default web browser.
There are fields for Phone and Fax, as well as two additional Phone Number fields that can be defined by double-clicking in the field and assigning a Phone Numbertype.
Use the Note field to enter any additional information regarding the company. This is a free-form field, but the data entered here can be accessed in searches.
Certain states require that DMV codes be printed on auto ID cards. In the DMV Code section, enter up to three States and their corresponding Codes for this company.
In the Company Type frame, select Carrier if this company issues paper, underwrites coverage, or displays on policies and ACORD forms. Select Broker if coverage was placed through another agent.
If you selected Carrier, revise the Billing and Master fields if this company is the child of a separate Billing company and/or Master company. A Billing company does not underwrite coverage but collects premium and handles accounting functions, and is usually the parent company of one or more Issuing companies. A Master company is the Parent company of multiple Issuing and Billing companies in a conglomerate, allowing figures for those companies to be combined into a single total on reports. Note: If you enter a Billing company and press [TAB], the Master company may default.
If you selected Broker, determine whether this broker writes Regular or Excess/Surplus Lines business.
Check Allow at Billing Screen to enable this company code to be entered on billing screens.
In the Pay Mode frame, select Company Statement or Agency Account Current.Company Statement means you make payments based on a statement sent by the company, while Agency Account Current means you send a statement of items owed to the company along with a check.
In the Bill Modes frame, determine whether this company writes Direct bill business, Agency bill business, or both.
Make the appropriate selection in the Installments frame:
Use Pennies: Do not round installment amounts.
No Pennies, Add to 1st: Round installments to the nearest dollar, adding the remaining amount to the first installment.
No Pennies, Add to Last: Round installments to the nearest dollar, adding the remaining amount to the last installment.
In the Commission frame, determine whether the company pays the agency a Percent of the premium or a Flat Amt.
Enter the Agency Code if known. This is assigned to the agency by the company and prints on applications, Account Current reports, and company memos.
Enter the company's Best's Rating if known (for reference only).
The Foreign Code field is a free-form field used to indicate whether the company writes business in countries other than the US. You may enter a single character in this field. This field is for reference only.
Enter the NAIC Code. This is a code assigned to the company by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and is necessary if you will be performing download with this company. Consult the company if you do not know this code.
If applicable, specify Admitted/Authorized or Excess line or free trade zone as it applies to this company.
Select the day of the month that the company should be paid.
