Report Selection Tab
On the Report Selection tab, you can select a report or select a search as well as determine the output destination.
Select a Report
From the Report Type list, select one of the following report categories:
- Management: Reports related to agency policy activity and production.
- Accounting: Reports related to client transactions and company payables.
- Activity: Reports related to Activity File entries.
- Claims: Reports related to claims.
- Forms: Reports related to forms, such as applications, binders, and change requests.
- General Ledger: Financial and voucher reports related to the agency's financial status.
All available reports for the selected type display in the Report Choices list. Select the desired report. Reports that are grayed out are only available in TAM Classic Reports. To open the report, select it and click Open in Classic.
Select a Search
Searches differ from reports in that you are able to determine which fields are included in the output. To view the available search options, click the Search button on the left side of the TAM Reports screen. (TAM Classic Reports only)
Select one of the following from the Report Type list:
- Search - Customers: Search customer data, including activity, attachment, claim, contact, policy, and transaction information.
- Search - Prospects: Search prospect data, including activity, attachment, contact, and policy information.
- Search - Files: Search broker, company, employee, finance company, lienholder, producer, or vendor information.
- Search - General Ledger: Search General Ledger account balance information as well as information on deposits, withdrawals, and journal entries.
- Search - Miscellaneous: Access searches that do not fall under any of the preceding four categories.
All available searches for the selected type display in the Report Choices list. Select the desired search.
Output Destination Options
The Output Destination radio buttons determine the way the report or search information displays. The following options are available.
- Data Preview: Displays data preview window. Data can be viewed, edited, and filtered. For more information, see Data Preview.
- Mail Labels: Displays data in mail label format. For more information, see Mail Labels. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Word Mailmerge: Microsoft Word initiates a mailmerge from the selected report data. For more information, see Mailmerges with Word.
Please check the Applied Compatibility Grid to ensure compatibility with your version of Microsoft Office.
- Excel - Raw data: Report data loads into an .XLS file in Microsoft Excel. You have the option to overwrite an existing file, save a new file on your TAM drive, or save a temporary file to your local station. You also have the option to launch Excel directly from TAM once the data is loaded.
- Excel - EIS Automated: Report data loads into an .XLS file in Microsoft Excel with Applied Systems's custom executive analysis macro loaded. This feature is not supported on Windows XP or above.
- Excel - Consolidated File: Creates an .ASC file and saves it to your TAM drive. You have the option to overwrite an existing file, save a new file on your TAM drive, or save a temporary file to your local station. ASC files can be opened with Excel or Notepad, and you can copy and paste the output from two different reports to work with them as a single file.
- Save as User-Defined: Report saved in user-defined list. See Save as User-Defined. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Save as Month-End Report: Report saved in Month-End report list. See Save as Month-End Report. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Save as Custom Report: User-defined reports are saved as custom reports to provide a backup or to transport the report to another system or site. See Custom Report Information. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Report: Preview the report results or send the report directly to the printer.
- Text File: Creates an ASCII text file. You can preview the results or send the report directly to the printer. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Queue Report: Queue the report to print in Close-Day or Night Utility Job System. (TAM Classic Reports only)
- Data File: You have the option to overwrite an existing file, save a new file on your TAM drive, or save a temporary file to your local station.

- Comma Delimited: Creates a comma delimited file.
- Tab Delimited: Creates a tab delimited file.
- SDF (Fixed): System Data Format - Creates a file with fixed fields and fixed record lengths. Fields are not delimited.
- dBASE IV: Creates a dBASE file.
